Army Has Entered Into Semifinal Defeating Three Star
Kathmandu, Tribhuvan Army Club has entered into the semifinals of the 20th edition of the Aha Rara Gold Cup Football Tournament.
The army reached the last four final rounds by defeating Three Star Club 1-0 in the last quarterfinal on Tuesday. Rajib Gurung scored the decisive goal to give victory to the Army at Pokhara Stadium.
However, the army had to wait until the second half to win. Rajib scored in the 70th minute of the match. He scored on a pass from George Prince Carkey on a mistake by a three-star defender.
In the semi-final, Army will compete with Manang Marsyangdi Club. Five-time champion Three Star is out. Manang has reached the last four by defeating Nepal Police Club 2-0. A total of 10 teams are participating in the ongoing competition organized by Sahara Club Pokhara.
The winning team of the competition will get 1 million 1 thousand and the runner-up team will get 5 million 1 thousand. Awards will be awarded in memory of the late Surya Bahadur KC within five categories. The competition has been sponsored by Hima Shri Foods Pvt. Ltd.'s Aha Rara Prepared Noodles since the first edition.
The best player has been sponsored by Aprilia Scooter while the highest goal scorer award WHICH has been sponsored by Hong Kong-based advocate Dev Gurung.
