Asian Cricket Council Holds Annual General Meeting in Dhaka, Welcomes New Member Nations

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today in Dhaka, marking a significant milestone as the first time the event was hosted in Bangladesh’s capital. The meeting brought together representatives from all ACC member nations, achieving full attendance, and was chaired by Mr. Mohsin Naqvi, ACC president and chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Mr. Naqvi expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Aminul Islam, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), for BCB’s warm hospitality and meticulous arrangements. He emphasized the importance of hosting the AGM in Dhaka, acknowledging the professional and collaborative environment fostered by the host nation.

Key Highlights from the AGM:

  • Approval of audited financial accounts, the ACC budget, and the 2025–2026 tournament calendar, reinforcing the ACC’s commitment to structured development and quality competitions across Asia.

  • Announcement of cricket’s inclusion in the 2026 Asian Games to be held in Japan.

    • The event will feature 10 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams, selected based on continental rankings.

  • Three new member nations—Mongolia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines—were officially welcomed into the ACC, expanding the organization’s footprint into emerging cricket territories.
