T20 World Cup 2026: Zimbabwe and Namibia Qualify, 17 Teams Confirmed
Kathmandu – A total of 17 teams have now booked their spots for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe and Namibia secured their tickets through the Africa Regional Qualifiers.
Namibia defeated Tanzania by 63 runs in the first semifinal to seal their qualification, while Zimbabwe thrashed Kenya by seven wickets in the second semifinal to return to the World Cup after missing out last time.
So far, the confirmed teams include hosts India and Sri Lanka, along with Australia, Afghanistan, England, New Zealand, West Indies, South Africa, Bangladesh, Pakistan, USA, Ireland, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
The remaining three spots will be decided through the East Asia-Pacific Regional Qualifier, featuring Oman, UAE, Qatar, Nepal, Samoa, Kuwait, Malaysia, Japan and Papua New Guinea. The matches will begin on October 8 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Oman.
