Friendship Football match will be held in Manang
Kathmandu, A friendship football game will start on September 11 in Manang to raise awareness about the preservation of the Yak and Snow Leopard.
A three-day competition called "Friendship Football Match for Conservation—Together for Yak and Snow Leopard" is being put on by the Biodiversity Conservation Society Nepal and the Ant Foundation.
The goal of the friendly football game, according to organisers who convened a news conference on Sunday, is to raise awareness about the need to protect yaks and snow leopards in the Himalayan region.
At Timang, 2,600 metres above sea level; Pisang, 3,100 metres above sea level; and Mungji, 3,200 metres above sea level, three friendly matches will be played.
Upendraman Singh, Hari Khadka, and Anil Gurung, former captain and custodian of the Nepali national football team, are all interested in the cause. A friendly game of football will also be played, according to the organiser.
Three neighbourhood football teams—Manang Yak, Pisang Yak, and Kanjisar Yak—will participate with the famously famous Tmea Himalayan Snow Leopard.
18 celebrities from various fields and localities will compete alongside football professionals in the competition.
