Kathmandu, July 10 – Kathmandu Gurkhas have officially appointed former Nepal national team coach Monty Desai as the head coach for the upcoming second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

Desai, who previously served as the head coach of Nepal’s national men’s cricket team from 2023 to 2025, brings extensive coaching experience and leadership to the franchise. During his tenure, Nepal qualified for the T20 World Cup for the second time in its history, a major milestone under his guidance.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Desai is also the marquee player for Kathmandu Gurkhas in the tournament.

The Gurkhas’ management believes Desai’s proven track record and deep understanding of Nepalese cricket will be a key asset as they aim for a strong performance in NPL Season 2.
