Lalitpur Queens Retain Salina Shrestha for Second EWVL Season
Kathmandu, July 17 – Lalitpur Queens, the runners-up of the first edition of the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL), have announced the retention of their former captain Salina Shrestha for the upcoming second season.
As per the league’s rule allowing each franchise to retain one player from the previous season, Lalitpur opted to bring back their experienced leader, who captained the team to a runner-up finish in the inaugural edition.
Lalitpur has already finalized its coaching lineup for the new season, appointing Utsav Khadka as head coach and Yugesh Hamal as assistant coach.
The second edition of the EWVL is scheduled to take place from September 5 to 13, 2025 (Bhadra 20–28).
All six participating franchises will complete their squads through a player auction scheduled for Friday afternoon. According to the auction rules, each team must pick:
-
1 player from Category A
-
3 players from Category B
-
3 players from Category C
A total of 7 players per team will be selected through this process.
With the retention of Salina Shrestha and a clear focus on team development, Lalitpur Queens are gearing up to contend for the title in this year's edition.
