Lumbini Lavas Joins Vatsalya Everest Women's Volleyball League

Kathmandu – Nepal’s only franchise-based women’s volleyball league, the Vatsalya Everest Women’s Volleyball League (EWVL), welcomes a new team for its upcoming edition — Lumbini Lavas.

Set to debut in the second edition of the league this coming Bhadra (August/September), Lumbini Lavas enters the competition with fresh energy and ambition. The team will replace Chitwan Shakti, which participated in the inaugural season.

The 2025 season of EWVL will feature a total of six franchise teams, including the newly introduced Lumbini Lavas. The team is owned by Sushri Media.

With its entry, Lumbini Lavas aims to make a significant impact on women’s volleyball in the Lumbini Province, a region that has recently seen a rise in interest and participation in women’s volleyball.

The franchise is expected to announce its marquee player and head coach in the coming days. Lumbini Lavas has also confirmed its readiness to participate in the league’s historic player auction, scheduled for Shrawan 2 (July 18).

The arrival of Lumbini Lavas is anticipated to raise the level of competition and excitement in this year’s Everest Women’s Volleyball League.
